RMD UK exhibit at EMPOWER 2010

Energy efficiency will be on the agenda at this year’s EMPOWER Further Education Purchasing Conference as RMD UK exhibits its latest PUE monitoring device.

PUE monitoring devices are a key means of assessing the energy efficiency of data centres by measuring the total power supplied to a data centre against the power used by the IT equipment.
RMD UK will be demonstrating the APC InfraStruXure Energy Efficiency application, which provides detailed insight into how energy is utilised and identifies efficiency losses.
John Smykala, RMD UK’s Managing Director, said: “As energy costs continue to rise, energy efficiency is becoming increasingly important. Data centres are incredibly power intensive, so even reductions of two or three per cent in overall consumption can amount to savings of thousands of pounds annually.”

RMD will also be exhibiting APC’s security and environmental monitoring range, NetBotz.

EMPOWER 2010 is organised by the Crescent Purchasing Consortium and aims to support networking and business opportunities between Further Education institutions and suppliers.

Only suppliers with Crescent Purchasing Consortium agreements have been invited to exhibit at the 2010 conference.
